40 Orkney dons supporters travelled down to Aberdeen on the Northlink ferry, With a quick change on Saturday morning and taxi to the Bon Accord golf club to meet up with the other 6 to make a grand thriving total of 46 members. The Chairman of our club flew down because ...well because he could. We were then split into two groups and went across the road to Pittodrie for a champagne reception at 11.30am in the Boardroom with AFC director Ken Matheson. A quick tour of the stadium and with some changing room stories we were certainly entertained, A quick group photograph and then headed up for our 3 course meal and all the sponsor palaver etc, As we were match sponsors Mark and Acker went up to get presented with signed shirts from Joe Calzaghe who didn’t understand Acker but still shied away from him. Some more drinks then headed out for the match, sadly we lost 2-1 but that could not dampen our post match palaver! Graham Ratter the grandson of the founder member of the club the late Jimmy Dick presented our man of the match to Youl Mawene. Our thanks must go to Stewart Milne, Joe Harper, Brian Irvine, Rory Fallon, Kari Arnason and Ken Matheson who all mingled with us. P.s Stewart even got his wallet out!! see Photos
